Sat. Oct 1st @ 1:30 Friends of John "JT" Thomas will gather for Remeberance of JT - Spreading of JT's ashes off the Coney Island Pier. At 1:30 we will gather at Stillwell/Boardwalk for a bit then walk to the pier for JT Remembrance by Tommy & Charlie to spread his ashes into the sea at 2 pm.
Neptune Jam is also playing a tribute to JT on the boardwalk 1pm - 6 pm @ W10th st "Dreamland Pavillion." Most know Jt's love of music and promoting bands - clubs etc. Throughout the day several of JT musicians friends will be coming by to jam with Paul Lee & Neprtune Jam so bring your dancing shoes. This will definitely be a New Orleans style tribute.

ORIGINAL POST 2010: Recently we learned of JT's passing on Sept 10, 2010 mid afternoon. Jt was the GM/ Club Promoter for Cha Chas in Coney Island the past several years but was also the Manager of Club Atlantis back in the day. He would welcome all strangers to Coney with stories of the past and show you where Danny Dreher got his start singing DooWop on the boardwalk. His stories of the Ghost that live in the basement of Club Atlantis that came alive every Halloween will continue to be told to new visitors.
We will update with Funeral arrangements once they have been finalized. Possibly the Week of Sept 20th - in Coney island, NY. For more info call Cha Chas Club - 718-946-1305 or check on Facebook Fan Page: http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/pages/Coney-Island-NY/Cha-Chas-Club-of-Coney-Island/78652189291?ref=ts
Laura McKenna - "JT gave Girls on Top our start, was a huge supporter of the band, thanks to him we have more memories and friends that we can count. He was the Mayor of Coney Island-- everywhere he went he knew people-- and will be sorely missed."
Lola Staar "Wow. JT truly was one of the people who have made Coney Island the spectacular place that it is today! His unique creativity saturates every corner of Cha Cha's. His spirit will live on forever in Coney Island. He was a genius of kitshy decorations, haunted Halloween spook houses and rock and roll tall/ truth tales! Not to mention the most perfectly colorful company one could ever hope for during late, late night drink on the boardwalk! I am so sorry to hear this news. I will greatly miss JT!
JT YOU WILL BE VERY MUCH MISSED ON THE CONEY ISLAND BOARDWALK !!!!
